How to care for your Anthurium Plowmanii?
The Anthurium Plowmanii is best placed in a place with indirect light. When the light touches the leaves you’ll see the amazing shimmer on the leaves! Avoid direct sunlight, as this can cause burn marks.
Watering is best done once or twice a week. Check before watering the soil of the plant. It can remain slightly moist at all times, but do make sure the roots are not constantly wet. Is the top 2 centimeter soil dry? Then give the Anthurium Plowmanii a splash of water.
Anthurium Plowmanii, like most anthuriums, prefers a high level of humidity. It is important to keep the humidity level around the plant at 50% or higher, especially during the winter months when the air is drier. You can increase the humidity around your plant by misting it regularly, using a humidifier, or placing the plant on a tray filled with pebbles and water. Be sure to refill the water as needed to ensure that the plant is getting the humidity it needs.
In the summer months you can fertilize your plant. In the colder and winter months no fertiliser is needed. Please always check the instructions on your own fertiliser if it has other care instructions.
It’s advisable to repot your plant once a year into a bigger pot. When choosing a new pot, go 1 size bigger. This will give the roots sufficient room to grow which will result in new foliage growth.
Anthurium species can cause irritation to animals or humans when ingested.
