How to care for your Christia Obcordata?
Light
The Christia Obcordata thrive in a bright but indirect sunlight. It will tolerate darker spots but the leaves probably will not grow bigger.
Water
Watering your plant about once a week should be sufficient. Most important is to keep the soil evenly moist in between watering. Don’t let the soil stay soggy!
Soil
Christia fairs well in a type of soil that is well draining but can also retain a bit of water. Mix up some potting soil with pine bark, perlite or even a bit of pon. If you want to go the easy way make sure to get some of our Deluxe Aroid soil mix, a perfect soil mixture for this plant.
Humidity
Try keeping the humidity in you home a bit above average to let the plant thrive. With a humidity of about 60% – 65% the plant should do well.
Fertilisation
In the summer months you can fertilize your plant. In the colder and winter months no fertiliser is needed. Please always check the instructions on your own fertiliser if it has other care instructions.
Repotting
The best time to repot is during the beginning of the growing season. As the Christia Obcordata is not such a huge plant, even when mature, repotting the plant often is not needed. Most likely repotting the plant once every 2 years should be fine.
Toxicity
The Christia Obcordata is toxic for humans and animals if ingested.
