How to care for your Dracaena Marginata Bicolor?
Light
Dracaena species do best in moderate light conditions. A spot with partially shade or a bit of filtered indirect sunlight would be perfect. This makes the Dracaena ideal to brighten up a darker place in your home!
Water
Dracaena Marginata Bicolor isn’t such a needy plant when it comes to watering. The plant doesn’t require tremendous amounts of water. It’s for sure less thirsty than other house plants. Watering your Dracaena once every two weeks should be fine. Once you water the plant make sure it’s watered throughout and let the soil dry out in between watering.
Soil
Dracaena will be fine in just regular potting soil. If you want to mix things up you could add a little bit of perlite to make it more airy and a bit of clay pebbles for some water retention.
Humidity
Dracaena species do well in a place with a slightly higher than average humidity level. Try keeping it at a minimum of 55%, preferable a little bit higher. To increase the humidity around your plant you can spray with a mist bottle every once in a while.
Fertilisation
The growing season is the perfect time to fertilize your Dracaena Marginata Bicolor. In winter time fertilizing is not required. When using a fertilizer always read the instructions on the bottle before using.
Repotting
The best time to repot is during the beginning of the growing season. Check if your plant is root bound in it’s nursery pot. Then it’s time to move it to a bigger size pot of around 2 cm extra. Generally repotting your Dracaena every other year should be sufficient.
Toxicity
The Dracaena is toxic for humans and animals when ingested.
