How to care for your Hoya Pubicalyx?
Hoya are perhaps one of the easiest plants to care for. When placing a Hoya in your home make sure it gets a much light. A spot with bright indirect sunlight would be ideal. If you don’t mind some sun-stressed leaves, you can even place your Hoya in direct sunlight.
Watering of your Hoya will mostly depend on place it stands and the time of year. When the plant gets much light it’s probably going to need water once a week. In winter times Hoya don’t need to be water very frequently and once ever two weeks should be fine.
Just like most Hoya, Hoya Pubicalyx like a well draining soil mixture. Mixing some coco coir, pine bark and perlite would be ideal. In the shop we have a special Hoya soil mixture just right for your Hoya!
Your Hoya Pubicalyx doesn’t need a high humidity to thrive. It will do well in normal house hold conditions. A minimum humidity of 40% is recommended.
In the summer months you can fertilise the plant once every week. In the colder and winter months no fertiliser is needed. Please always check the instructions on your own fertilizer for the exact instructions.
The best time to repot is during the beginning of the growing season. Hoya Pubicalyx don’t need to be repotted very often. This low maintenance plant is fine with a repot once very 2 or 3 years.
Hoya species are toxic for humans and animals when ingested.
