How to care for your Maranta Leuconeura NoID?

Light

Maranta species do best in moderate light conditions. They’ll be fine with a bit of indirect light or even a bit more shade. A place close to an eastern of even a northern facing window should be fine.

Water

Maranta Leuconeura NoID doesn’t like to be thirsty, so water your plant regularly. Watering once a week should be fine. Keep the soil just a little bit moist in between waterings at all times.

Soil

A well draining soil mixture is the best way to go to keep your Maranta Leuconeura NoID happy. Mixing the potting soil with some perlite is a basic. Alternatively you can grow the plant in hydroponic, using anything from clay pebbles to pon or grit.

Humidity

Like most aroids the Maranta likes a humid environment. For your plant to be the happiest as can be keep to humidity to at least 60%. A higher humidity of about 70% would perhaps be even better. With a low humidity the leaves of the Maranta will curl up and get crispy.

Fertilisation

The summer months is the perfect time to fertilize your Maranta NoID. In winter time fertilizing is not required. When using a fertilizer always read the instructions on the bottle before using.

Repotting

The best time to repot is during the beginning of the growing season. Check if your plant is root bound in it’s nursery pot. Then it’s time to move it to a bigger size pot of around 2 cm extra. Generally repotting your Maranta every year should be sufficient.

Toxicity

The Maranta is toxic for humans and animals when ingested.
