How to care for your Monstera Adansonii Variegata?
Light
The Monstera Adansonii Variegata requiers a lot of bright but indirect light. When given enough light the variegation will have a good chance to come back in new leaves. More light = more white is a phrase you hear a lot with variegated plants. Do be careful with too much direct sunlight. This might burn the fragile leaves of the Monstera Adansonii Variegata.
Water
You can water your Monstera Adansonii Variegata moderately. In most climates watering your plant once a week should be sufficient. The soil may stay a little bit moist, but never leave the plant in soaking wet soil as this may cause root rot.
Soil
It is advisable to give your Monstera a light and airy soil mixture. This is perfect for aeration and gives the roots room to grow. You can mixup regular potting soil with some perlite and pine bark. If you don’t want the hassle by mixing your own, we have a few fine soil mixtures ready for you to use (basic aroid mixture, premium soil mixture or deluxe soil mixture.
Humidity
This plant is native to the tropical regions of South and Central America and likes to be kept warm and humid. To let your Monstera Adansonii Variegata thrive a humidity level of 60% to 80% is ideal.
Fertilisation
In the summer months you can fertilize the plant to enhance the growth of your plant. Depending on your fertilizer this is possible once a week or 3/4 times a month. Please always check the instructions on your own fertilizer for the exact care instructions.
Repotting
The best time to repot is during the beginning of the growing season. Check if your plant is root bound in it’s nursery pot. Then it’s time to move it to a bigger size pot of around 2 cm extra. Normally repotting is needed every year or every other year.
Toxicity
The Monstera is may cause irritation for humans and animals if ingested.
