How to care for your Monstera Dubia?
Light
The Monstera Dubia loves a good amount of light during the day. It will enhance the beautiful shiny leaves of the plant. Placing the plant in indirect sunlight would be ideal. When placed much darker, the growth can be stunned.
Water
We advise to water your Monstera Dubia once a week. Depending a bit on your local climate, this should be sufficient.
Soil
The soil should be an airy well draining mixture to avoid root rot. Try using one part coco coir, one partperlite and one part pine bark together for a good consistency.
Humidity
Monstera can live in any house hold environment. For your Monstera Adansonii Laniata to thrive it’s best to keep the humidity at a minimum of 50%-60%, especially in the winter.
Fertilisation
From mid-March to mid-October it is smart to fertilize your plants. Not only will the fertilizer give much needed nutrients to your plant, it can also enhance the growth. In winter time fertilizing is not needed. How much fertilizer to use and how often to use it will depend on the product you have available. For the correct instruction, always check the bottle before using.
Repotting
The best time to repot is during the beginning of the growing season. Check if your plant is root bound in it’s nursery pot. Then it’s time to move it to a bigger size pot of around 2 cm extra.
Toxicity
The Monstera is may cause irritation for humans and animals if ingested.
