How to care for your Monstera Esqueleto?
The Monstera Esqueleto doesn’t require lot’s of light to grow. A north facing window with a few hours of sun is enough for this plant to thrive. Make sure the leaves don’t come in contact with direct light because the thick leaves are sensitive for sunburn.
Because the leaves of this Monstera are thick it can retain a bit more water. It is important to let the soil dry out between waterings.
The soil should be an airy well draining mixture to avoid rootrot. Try using one part coco coir, one partperlite and one part pine bark together for a good consistency.
This plant is native to the tropical regions of South America and likes to be kept warm and humid. Try placing this in your bathroom or kitchen.
In the summer months you can fertilise the plant once every 3 to 4 weeks. In the colder and winter months no fertiliser is needed. Please always check the instructions on your own fertiliser if it has other care instructions.
The best time to repot is during the beginning of the growing season. Check if your plant is root bound in it’s nursery pot. Then it’s time to move it to a bigger size pot of around 2 cm extra.
The Monstera is may cause irritation for humans and animals if ingested.
