How to care for your Rhaphidophora Decursiva?
The Rhapidophora Decursiva doesn’t require lot’s of light to grow. A north facing window with a few hours of sun is enough for this plant to thrive. Alternatively place the plant in some indirect light where bright light gets filters.
Rhapidophora Decursiva isn’t such a needy plant. In most cases watering the plant once a week should be sufficient. The top few centimeters may dry out a bit before watering again.
The soil should be an airy well draining mixture to avoid root rot. Try using one part coco coir, one partperlite and one part pine bark together for a good consistency.
An average humidity should be fine for most Rhaphapidophora species. It’s advisable to keep the humidity level at a minimum of 50% to 60%.
From mid-March to mid-October it is smart to fertilize your plants. Not only will the fertilizer give much needed nutrients to your plant, it can also enhance the growth. In winter time fertilizing is not needed. How much fertilizer to use and how often to use it will depend on the product you have available. For the correct instruction, always check the bottle before using.
The best time to repot is during the beginning of the growing season. Check if your plant is root bound in it’s nursery pot. Then it’s time to move it to a bigger size pot of around 2 cm extra.
