How to care for your Scindapsus Treubii Dark Form?
Light
In its natural habitat, the Scindapsus often grows in the jungle against larger trees and can therefore be placed in a place with less sunlight. A spot with indirect sunlight is ideal. Let some morning sun hit those beautiful glossy leaves!
Water
Scindapsus are easy maintenance plants. They’re perfectly fine with a good splash of water once a week (of course depending on your local climate). The top part of the soil may dry out a little between watering, but try to avoid the soil to dry out completely. In our experience the Scindapsus species will be forgiving to you when you forget to water the plant every now and then.
Soil
To give your Scindapsus Treubii Dark Form a good start it’s advisable to pot your plant is a good draining soil mixture. Try combining potting soil with some perlite and perhaps even some pine bark. This will ensure you of good airy mixture.
Humidity
Scindapsus will do well in most common house hold environments. It can survive a low humidity even. However it’s best to keep the humidity at at least 50%. Scindapsus Treubii Dark Form will probably do even better when the humidity is around 60% – 70% year round.
Fertilisation
Fertilizing your plants is a good idea in the summer months. This will give your Scindapsus Treubii Dark Form some needed nutrients to grow and flourish. Always follow the instructions given on the bottle for the right amount of fertilizer.
Repotting
Scindapsus can grow very rapidly. Therefor repotting your plant once a year is a smart thing to do. Once the root system is well established in the pot, repot the plant into a slightly bigger one. Add a bit of fresh soil and your done!
Toxicity
The Scindapsus may cause irritation for humans and animals when ingested.
