How to care for your Syngonium Erythrophyllum ‘Red Arrow’?
Light
The Syngonium species thrive in a bright but indirect sunlight. It will tolerate darker spots but growth may fall behind and leaves tend to grow back smaller. It can also cause the beautiful foliage to fade. A bit of sunlight is therefore much appreciated!
Water
It doesn’t use too much water depending on your own climate. In most cases watering once a week should do the trick. The plant likes it when the soil is a little moist. Make sure the soil doesn’t dry out completely.
Soil
The Syngonium Erythrophyllum ‘Red Arrow’ likes an airy soil mix which is well draining. Try using perlite and pine bark with coco coir to keep light. If you don’t like the hassle of making your own soil you can try using our Deluxe aroid mix. Alternately you can go for a hydroponic mix like Pon or Grit.
Humidity
Like most aroids the Syngonium likes a humid environment. The humidity should be at least 50%. For the Syngonium Erythrophyllum ‘Red Arrow’ we advise a humidity of around 60% – 80% for the plant to thrive.
Fertilisation
In the summer months you can fertilise the plant once every other week. In the colder and winter months no fertiliser is needed. Please always check the instructions on your own fertiliser if it has other care instructions.
Repotting
The best time to repot is during the beginning of the growing season. Check if your plant is root bound in it’s nursery pot. Then it’s time to move it to a bigger size pot of around 2 cm extra. Generally repotting your Syngonium every year should be sufficient.
Toxicity
The Syngonium is toxic for humans and animals when ingested.
